Step 1:  Candidates seeking admission to Taxila Business School  will be required to purchase CAT 2009 (conducted by IIMs). For detailed information about CAT 2009, please visit www.catiim.in .   Selection will be made strictly on the basis of the combined Merit acquired by a Candidate in CAT 2009 of IIM, Group Discussion and Interview conducted by Taxila Business school.  

Taxila Business School  uses CAT for short-listing the candidates for its two-year full time Post-Graduate Programmes in Management.  IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme. 

Step 2:  Candidates are also required to register at Taxila Business School through separate application form which has to be obtained from Office, either in person  Cheque of Rs. 900/-  OR may be downloaded from the web site of Taxila Business school www.taxila.in   

The downloaded application form must be submitted along with demand draft of Rs. 900/- . Completed application form be submitted to Taxila on or before Jan 31, 2010 

Applicants to all the programs of the institute are screened through a three tier process.

1. Written test CAT

2. Group discussion/ presentation

3. Personal interview 

Candidates from the following categories are exempted from the written test:

Regular Admission is granted to those applicants who have fulfilled all the admission requirements and whose name appears in the regular merit list of successful applicants.  

Corporate Sponsored and NRI / NRI Sponsored Candidate Category up to 10 % seats are in all allotted on following conditions:

1 Candidates are directly called for GD / PI / Write-up. They may also appear without CAT  examination.

2 It is a separate merit category based on GD and Interview, and graduation score.  

3 A fee as per schedule will be deposited annually/ Semester wise in advance.

4 In case of corporate sponsored candidates, the sponsoring company must have annual turnover of minimum Rs.5.0 crore.

6 Following documents are required at the time of interview for industry sponsored category candidate:  

i. Latest Financial statements (Published Balance sheet and Income statement) be submitted at the time of GD / PI.

 ii. A sponsorship letter is required from Company as per Annexure - 1 

iii. Original marks sheet for 10th Std. Exam.,  10+2 exam, graduation exam and  related degree, certificates for date of birth and  work experience (if any) 

Following documents are required at the time of interview for NRI/NRI sponsored category candidate:   

I Passport copy and evidence of NRI status Notary attested in the country of residence of NRI or by the related foreign embassy in India  

II A sponsorship letter from NRI 

III Original marks sheet for 10th Std. exam., 10+2 exam, graduation exam (with minimum 50% marks) and related degree, certificates for date of birth,  and  work experience (if any) 

Selection Criteria :

Call for GD/PI

There is no cut-off pre-defined, but the merit is prepared on the basis of CAT/MAT/ATMA percentile for calling candidates for GD and Interview.

Final selection:

The merit is prepared on the basis of weightings given below:

PI 30% 

GD/Presentation 20% 

CAT  percentile 10% 

Graduation % 10% 

10+2/Higher Secondary % 10%

10th   10%

Misc.: 10% *

Suitable weightings for Work Experience, Academic & Regional background, Professional Qualification, Institution of Excellence etc. are also given.

NOTE:  Applying for the admission does not ensure that candidate will be called for GD / PI process or get admission. The discretion of the admission committee of the Institute will be final in all such matters.

Selection procedure:

Step (I)Procurement of Form:   

a) Admission office of the school by paying Rs. 900/- in cash.

b) Office of the school by post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 900/- in favour of  “Taxila Business School” payable at Jaipur)

From website by downloading (Demand Draft of Rs. 900/- is to be enclosed with downloaded form in favour of the school).

GD/ PI would be conducted at different places, schedule is appended on the website or shall be informed to the student seperately. 

Step (IV)

Declaration of Final Selection List : Final Selection List would be declared next day of interview and informed to the students through email/ sms/ telephone or students may call Taxila Business School to know their results.

Step (V) 

Fee Submission:

Time of  three days would be given to the selected candidates from the day of declaration of final selection list to deposit the admission fee of Rs.20000.0 

Time of fifteen days would be given to the selected candidates from the day of declaration of final selection list to deposit first instalment. 

Beginning of session

Academic session of all the programmes starts on August 02 or next working day every year.

Financing of Pograme

Education Loans are available from all Nationalised as well as private banks to Taxila students. 

Note. The institute can not extend time limit for deposit of fees at the time of admission or at any other time due to delay in availing education loan by the students. The documentation support has to be honoured by the candidates as required by the financial institution.  

Residential Facilities

Taxila has fully  air-cooled, Wi-Fi, hostel in Jaipur. The environment is highly conducive for academic learning. It provides a comfortable living with facilities such as:Air-cooled hostel rooms Round-the-clock Campus Security. Dining Hall Gym & Sports Facility  The institute has more than one location for the hostel accommodation with similar facilities. It may be provided on twin sharing or single or more sharing basis depending upon the number of students admitted. The allotment of hostel to a student will be made at the sole discretion of the management. 

Estimated cost of Boarding and Lodging in Hostels 

Lodging & Boarding  : Rs. 24000 per semester

 Important Regulations  

1 Student shall observe all the rules and regulations, framed from time to time by the school and breach of any of these may render them liable for penalty under the rules and/or expulsion from the Institute. 

2 The Institute reserves the right to make alteration in the course contents of the programmes, rules and regulations, teaching schedule, fees payable, living charges and any other matters pertaining to its working. Director's decision will be final in all such matters. 

3 If a student admitted to the Institute is found to have given any false information or suppressed some information, his/her admission will be cancelled and no fees will be refunded to the candidate. 

4 Cost of Admission form is non-refundable after purchase of the form. 

5 The total tuition fee for any programme for merit category may be paid in equal half yearly instalments. The first such instalment shall be paid before the start of the class as per the schedule written in selection letter.. For NRI and corporate sponsored candidates, the fee is payable annually in advance. 

6 The institute does not take the responsibility of any delay in transit involved in receipt and delivery of any communication between the institute and the applicant. 

7 All disputes are subject to legal jurisdiction of District Jaipur Rajasthan (India).

Rule for refund of fee in case of cancellation of Admission :

Refund/ transfer of fee is not permitted.
