PGDM Core Subject
Legal Aspects of Business
Course Objective
2. Course Description
Managers often view the law as a constraint. This course flips that perspective, teaching "Preventive Law"—how to structure deals, protect Intellectual Property (IP), and navigate corporate governance to create value. It focuses on the Indian Contract Act, Companies Act 2013, and the IT Act (Cyber Law), ensuring leaders stay on the right side of compliance while aggressively pursuing growth.
3. Course Objectives (Learning Goals)
- To interpret valid contracts and manage contractual obligations to avoid litigation.
- To apply the Companies Act 2013 for ethical corporate governance and director responsibilities.
- To protect intangible assets (Brands, Ideas, Software) using IPR Laws (Copyright, Trademark, Patent).
- To navigate the legal landscape of the Digital Economy (Privacy, Cyber Crimes).
