Dr. Himanshu is an educationist, philosopher, consultant, who has played pivotal roles in all the places he has worked. Currently serving as Director at IIM Indore, he has had a rich experience with Tata Steel, IIM Lucknow, SDA Bocconi, Milan, Italy, and XLRI Jamshedpur. He obtained his doctorate Fellowship from IIM-Ahmedabadand was the convener of CAT 2010, where he brought some drastic format changes in the history of CAT.

Dr Himanshu Rai started schooling at Mariampur School Kanpur and finished class 12th from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Armapur, Kanpur. He later graduated in Engineering (B.E.) from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka. He is an alumnus and a Fellowof IIM –Ahmedabad where he completed his PhD.

Dr. Himanshu began as an Engineer at TATA Steel where he held a pivotal role in developing Quality Systems and the Communication Policy for the Company.

Post his PhD from IIM-A, he served as a Faculty in the prestigious XLRI School of Business, Jamshedpur. He later joined as faculty at IIM Lucknowwhere for 8 years, he chaired the HR and OB Area. He took a sabbatical to join the SDA Bocconi School of Managementat Mumbai as a Professor and became the Dean at MISB Bocconi, India soon. Post this stint, he came back to IIM Lucknow from where he moved to his current position as Director IIM-Indore.

His specializes in Human Resource Management, with more focus on subjects like Negotiation, Leadership and Ethics.

He was awarded the Best professor in HRM area at IIM Lucknow. He also received coveted N.T.S.E. Scholarship and Infosys Fellowship in his school and college days.

He conducts various training programmes and workshops for senior executives and bureaucrats. He has already trained about 20000 professional from across various sectors and industries. He also gives consultancy on negotiations to both individuals and organizations.

In 2010 he was the Convener of CAT. During this course he brought a drastic format change in world’s testing history presenting a work over and above all the global standards of testing.

Dr. Himanshu also provides strategic consultancy to the Government of India, and State Governments. He has been a part of auditing of Planning Commission of India’s Programs. He plays many other roles as a motivational speaker, mountaineer, connoisseur of Sanskrit literature& proponent of Yoga etc.
