Tryst with Time: Life at B-School

It was stated in Newton’s third law, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.’’ So if you are spending, whether it is one’s money, happiness, performance, or the most important treasure of all – time, then there will be a reaction to it. Maybe that’s why people often forget to enjoy the present moment, always weigh their experiences with others or worry about the future.

I occasionally think about how often people fail to match their current with their past, despite coming an illustrative way from where they once were. Steve Jobs once said about ‘connecting the dots’, yet some of us fail to realize that our widest intentions, to some extent or the other, have materialized eventually. I had such an experience, after what could only be characterized as a rollercoaster of a year, post deciding to take up and investing in Taxila Business School for my PGDM. Of course, since you are examining this text, you acknowledge that it signifies everything concluded just as ‘Excellent!’

While I was doing my graduation in Business Management, simultaneously thinking and trying for my own company, I faced many obstacles which ranged from overseeing my work and people and dealing with the college deadlines. I always wondered, what is the considerably efficacious way to regulate such challenges, prioritize, emphasize, and get things done. This became one of the intentions that I wished to seek a PGDM.

When I came to Taxila Business School, I was slightly uncomfortable and yet delighted. Despite the excitement and the task of arranging to house somewhere, my brother (who had looked after me) felt dignified as I lived fulfilling my ambition of committing an MBA.

One of the nicest aspects that occurred during those initial days was, of course, uncovering my circle – my friends, the identical thinkers and hard-workers. I was familiar that Taxila’s major muscles are its faculty, and teaching and assessment pedagogy, and I am happy that I wasn’t let down. Every lecture and event was an incredibly new and proper learning occurrence.

Three trimesters have passed since I have been here and I am sure that my batch mates also have encountered a similar liaison with time in the last 9 months. I often examined exasperation attending classes at 9:00 AM, weekend classes, or numerous deadlines falling at the same time, but the improvement I’ve observed in myself, is indeed incredible.

With the last 2 terms waking up to be just busy, there is no suspicion that here, the student’s life is too hectic. However, the blunders of missing deadlines will have a larger impact than a drop in grades.

People like Mark Zuckerberg and Ratan Tata always said the similar thing: “No one really likes to look bad in public, to try and fail, to make mistakes, but quickly. When you do any mistake in low-impact situations because you won’t be judged by the mistakes, people won’t remember those years from now, they remember the things you did that were good.”

“Indeed, old patterns die hard. However, no one can say that old mode can’t be exchanged with new manners, learning is a part of our life until the last breath of human”, said Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam .

One side of your nomination with time is carefully appointing some time for the items you would like. The simplest advice I’ve ever got was from my KG teacher, who said to me, “Beta! Life is very brief, and we must have ambitions and make the most of our time to follow them. No one, aside from yourself, can determine what your dreams and life goals are going to be.”

Once you start the mission towards accomplishing your goals, other elements of your life like family and social life will also enumerate. We’re at a velocity in time where our choices (education, career decisions, etc.) can have a long-term influence. So, it is reasonable to settle on wisely and do something we love instead of what has anticipated folks.

We often believe in wealth, but we must think about whether we would rather make money from a career we hate or pursue our affections sacrificing the opportunity cost & expenses made. In my opinion, such a predicament is analogous to deciding between losing an arm or sacrificing a leg. My answer is that you require to evaluate both of those choices. Victorious people attain because they’ve been prepared to seek their interests and be cited for doing so.

Ponder on what I’ve written, the aim of this piece isn’t to inform you, the reader, what to try and do. I hope, instead, this piece has made you THINK, which practically, serves its purpose. As for my very own experience at Taxila Business School, I do know that my time here – the people I’ve befriended and worked together with, living on campus, following classes, and interacting with the staff – has endorsed my development as conscious and as a person’s being, and will do so until I graduate from here. I can confidently say that my familiarity at Taxila Business School has only made me more enthusiastic about the long run.
