Organizing Lamhe 2021- The Inter-College Festival

Lamhe is an inter-college festival, organized by Taxila Business School in Jaipur on 22nd and 23rd Dec 2021. As Taxila students, when we heard the idea of executing Lamhe on intercollege level for the first time, I thought this would be a bumpy road as the time we had to prepare was insufficient. However, the team and faculty proved me wrong in every way possible. Lamhe was a huge success with more than 200 participants over two days participating in events across multiple fields of Business Management, Sports and Culture.

Organizing the event Considering the time constraint, I was a bit unsure about the number of events selected whereas everyone was quite enthusiastic and industrious with a select few coming up as leaders. The passion Taxila team displayed picked me up and told me to start approaching this huge impossible kind of task. Initially there were some confusions, however we tried solving one problem at a time and the wheel began to spin, from here on it was a smooth sail. As they say “Preparing your mindset for the job accounts for 50% of the effort”. We had our accounts team rolling all day for preparation of budget, purchase coordination, team assistance and many more. The Account team’s effort really surprised us all. The most crucial part of any event is its backend technical support and we had better if not the best technical support within the available resources. Taxila students and Taxila staff worked together towards the need of the hour.

Learning for students At certain times, students were little deviated from the path and here we had our faculty showing the light. Lamhe was a huge event and we were the first ones to perform it at inter-college level. resulting in us all feeling this pressure. Coming in early and leaving late was our schedule as for those two days where every effort and initiative was appreciated. From the start, we were surprised with the number of participants and the energy they displayed. This event not only taught us management in multiple fields like time, people, task but also gave us some last-minute situations where we learnt about immediate improvisation which helped in developing our decision making. Life is but a collection of memories through experiences like these and I will treasure this Lamhe (memory) for life.
