Let’s get started…

  1. The Godfather-

The number one in this list is none other than The Godfather, an iconic movie that has in fact turned history. It’s based on a book of the same name, where an aging patriarch transfers control of his business to his reluctant son. Al Pacino stars in the movie which makes even more iconic. We aren’t going to tell you more because we don’t want to spoil it for you, but believe us, it’s a must-watch.

Here are some management lessons for business students from the godfather

    • Always recruit a trusted advisor
    • Have a succession plan
    • You must know your strength and weaknesses
    • “Good health is the most important thing. More than success, more than money, more than power”
    • Don’t share your plans or information related to business with anyone you don’t fully trust.
  2. Rocky-

Sylvester Stallone portrays Rocky, a man who gets a rare chance to fight heavyweight championship. It’s not just about winning the competition but about earning self-respect. Rocky goes at length to acquire success and then goes another length to retain it. The movie is so many things at the same time, you can call it action, drama, emotional, anything but the main point is that you watch it and see how when life knocks you down, it’s up to you whether to get back up.

  3. American Gangster

Yes, another gangster movie, but tell you what, you learn a lot from mobs and mafias. The movie stars Denzel Washington, a legend and Russell Crowe, another legend and is about a man who takes control of the business when his boss dies of heart attack (I know, a dream for us all, the control part, not the boss part). He expands his business while running some illegal businesses, cool isn’t it?

  4. The Count of Monte Cristo

Jim Caviezel and Guy Pearce, that’s it. Go watch the movie. Kidding, we’ll tell you the gist. The movie is about a man falsely imprisoned by his so-called friend and how he manages to get out and exact revenge. It is an adaptation of the movie with the same name. The storyline is basically imprisonment and revenge but also has other elements to it.

  5. Casino

Another Robert De Niro masterpiece, Casino is a 1995 movie about a mafia associate running a chain of casinos in Las Vegas and how he rises to power. And how in the journey to power, he has altercations with his friends which creates complications in his life. We think Robert De Niro is enough of charm to watch the movie, and you can learn how to deal with complicated situations and get out of them as well.

This Movie teach these business lessons to management students

    1. Ensure all safety measures for your returning customers
    2. Must Engage with professionals to handle critical situations
    3. Be prepared with policies for all situations – for the behoof of customer and company
  6. Cocktail

No, we are not talking about Bollywood Romantic Comedy. We are talking abut 1988, Tom Cruise starrer movie about a man who drops out of college and becomes a bartender to make ends meet. He has dreams and works hard to fulfil them.

  7.  The Pursuit of Happyness

Ah my heart! I’m sorry, this movie makes me emotional. The movie is a true story about a man Christopher Gardner who has seen and made life from rags to riches. Will Smith plays the lead role and delivers such a powerful performance that your heart cries when you see him struggle so much. He is an oddball in a world of shining, suited and booted corporate world, but all he cares about is providing a decent life for his son.

  8. Good Fellas

The 1990 movie of Robert De Niro is a class apart. The movie is about the mob life of New York City. It is about a man who with his friends starts a journey from being petty criminal to a gangster. The movie is cold-blooded and portrays a true mob culture which in most movies are presented meekly. It’s more like survival of the fittest.

  9.  House of Cards

This show is something that even words can’t describe. The plot, characters and top of it the acting makes this show a success. The show is about a Congressman and his wife who exact revenge on people who betrayed them. It teaches us to weigh all odds before trusting someone. Kevin Spacey in the lead role is a dream, the expression, dialogue delivery, he makes you sit there awestruck. Robin Wright, who portrays his wife is an equal stunner. The show has six seasons, so we’ve got you covered for a good time.

  10. The Social Network

Mark Zuckerberg, the man behind our favorite pastime, Facebook, this movie tells us his struggle and hard work into creating something the world can’t live without. Not only did he put in a lot of hard work, he also had to face criticism and loss of personal relationships in the journey of creating a masterpiece. Jesse Eisenberg portrays Zuckerberg in an unforgettable movie.

We have a bonus movie for you as well, once you finish all these and you want to learn some more then wath this one also. This movie is also a selective movie for mba students…

The Founder- Burgers. Yup, we love burgers, don’t we? But do you know who is behind our favorite burger joint? This movie will tell you. McDonald’s a household name now, was just another burger shop until the owner met a Godsend salesman, Ray who took it upon himself to make the place renowned. So, grab some burgers, preferably McDonald’s and watch the journey.

“Still a dreamer, yet more of a realist than ever before, I knew this was my time to sail. On the horizon, I saw the shining future, as before. The difference now was that I felt the wind at my back. I was ready.”
― Chris Gardner, The Pursuit of Happyness
